Hi There & Welcome, I think it is most likely that the medal entittlement/combination for this MM would be as follows: 1939-45 Star Atlantic Star Italy Star 1939-45 War Medal 1.There is no service post 6/6/44 in atlantic/european waters so no France & Germany bar for Atantic star. 2. There is no service in the Med or surrounds between qualifying dates for the Africa Star. 3. there does not appear to be qualifying areas for either the Burma or Pacific stars. ATB Simon
Hello and welcome, I am afraid it is more complicated than that. Merchant Navy medals were issued to seamen not on the basis of which ports the ship visited but followed strict criteria. The theatres of the war the ship and the seaman operated in together with minimim qualifying time. You have to provide the evidence to the RSS in Cardiff and they make a judgement. That said I see no reason to disagree with Simon. I think we have already corresponded on another site. Have you had the final word from the RSS in Cardiff. Regards Hugh
