Hello, I have been researching the battle of Lingevres for a few years now and I have been lucky enough to meet and speak with a number of veterens. One in particular has been of real interest as he was in the same platoon as a very good friend of mine. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which other units were in the same area as Lingevres between the 13-16 June 1944. Sgt Charles Eagles handed over a group of German prisoners to a Unit near to Lingevres and we are trying to find out if it is mentioned in the units war diary, but first we have to find out which unit it is likely to be . I have a small website relating to the action, if you Google 'Lingevres' you will be able to read it, and more about Sgt Eagles. Thanks for looking. Stewart
Have you seen the website I mentioned on this thread? http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/battle-specifics/6916-battle-lingevres-june-1944-a.html?highlight=Lingevres Or is that your site Stewart?
Hello Owen, Yes, it's my site. Sadly, I had a massive computor crash a few years back and I have been unable to update the site. However, I hope to have the situation rectified in the next month or so. Thanks for bringing the site to more peoples attention, I just wish I could finish it. Regards, Stewart
Hi Stewart I sent you a msg via your Lingevres site but obviously you did not get it. I have pics and info that might be useful if you can recover your site to update it. My dad was Tpr Dick Eagles A Squadron 4th/7th (Harris's Radio Operator). Please contact me if you are interested.
