Lieutenant Tasker Watkins VC, 1/5th Battalion, The Welch Regiment

Went to pull the 1/5 Welch missing file yesterday and, though accessioned, it's shown as 'closed' and 'temporarily retained by department'. The chap on enquiries thought this was an odd combination as it wasn't clear whether the file had got to Kew but then went back to MoD, or had never left the MoD in the first place.

 

File is missing on MOD end.

Chased this up a while ago...

Seemingly few options left, other than hoping it eventually turns up.
