Libya / Shipwreck in the Mediterranean

Sorry, only two pictures of this wreck. ope to get some more and naturally I hope that somebody might recognize the ship....

If you know the exact Co-Ords I think there is a website that lists all wrecks by location although someone like Cally or Hugh maybe able to help more on that front.

I'm in the same boat (Excuse the pun) as you Kuno...I only stumbled on it once.

If you can send me the approximate location and depth I might be able to help identifying it...

Guessing from the image of the gun it could be one of the following :
1. a Royal navy BL 4 inch mk naval gun (most probable)
or
2. a German 88mm (flak)

 

I would definitely exlude the 88mm FlAK. Unfortunately I have no measurements etc. of the gun in the sea :-(
