liberation Vriezenveen, 5april '45

    In my archive i've found some pictures of the entrance of the Canadian/British troops who have liberated Vriezenveen on the 5th of April 1945. I don't know to wich unit these Staghounds belong, but i think some specialized on this field can find out wo they belong to. I found a few pictures from the same photographer on google but these pictures are missing so i hope i helped somebody with these pics.

    Number 44 on the front it belongs to a Recce unit?

    12th Manitoba Dragoons, R.C.A.C.18th Armd. Car Regt.

    They had also 44 their vehicles

    I'd go with 18th Armd Car Regt too.

    The 44 has a white line over the top, that denoted Corps Troops, I think.

    If you really want to know more, might be worth asking someone to copy the war diary for you for that time.

    The F116801 was knocked out in Ommen on the 7th of April, with 1 fatal casualty
