As I may have mentioned before (don't answer that!) it is a rare week when I don't fire off a letter to either a local or a national newspaper. My offerings rarely get published. but the mere act of writing them is quite cathartic and, on the rare occasion when a letter to the Times is published, I add a copy to my trophy list ("little things please little minds") One such letter, left on the vine, so to speak, was not published and so begging your forgiveness, I thought I'd post it here in order to register my claim :P
Hello Ron I think you have now logged your claim and will be acknowledged.Give it a few days and your word (via Google)will become an internet sensation. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/barracks/46492-letter-times.html#post515835 regards Clive
I tried that once with 'webaganda' to only discover I wasn't the first to think of it and it didn't catch on anyway. For a laugh and a blatant attempt at social engineering I even created a wikipedia page for it. I think it lasted less than 24 hours before being pulled. But well done Ron for a first and I'll make sure I try to use it in the future just to puzzle people and appear clever, (with due credit to yourself of course).

By coincidence Peter G run's a very successful website here: Peter Ghiringhelli under the title of Weborama 2012. I wonder if he encountered any problems with the name ? Ron
Owen Keep writing letters & buying stamps, you're helping to keep me in a job Ron, Thank You. Stamps ? ......... not me !................. strictly by e-mail Ron
Clive I think you have now logged your claim and will be acknowledged.Give it a few days and your word (via Google)will become an internet sensation. That would be fun, however unlikely Ron

On going back to GOOGLE I see that there is reference to TECHNOMANIA here; Did you mean: technique oman technomania No results containing all your search terms were found. Your search - techniquomania - did not match any documents. Suggestions: Make sure all words are spelled correctly. Try different keywords. Try more general keywords. Technomania | Define Technomania at Dictionary.com A different word and a different definition perhaps but close enough to muddy the water ? ............... we shall see. Ron

Deleted from Wikipedia - Webaganda (deleted 09 May 2008 at 11:24) - Deletionpedia Interesting, didn't know there was a wiki for deleted wiki. I see it lasted almost five days. Reason for deletion "Non-notable neologism" and "Google doesn't reveal any reliable sources". Pah! I should be outraged.
Looking at the wiki link one of them liked your word Lee and you made it into the urban dictionary too ! That's a relief at one person liked it. I would have preferred OED rather than the urban dictionary though. Let's see if can get Ron's 'Techniquomania' in there...
Interesting, didn't know there was a wiki for deleted wiki. There are Wikis for just about everything. Stumbled across this yesterday: The Flat Earth Wiki
Owen Stamps ? ......... not me !................. strictly by e-mail Ron Ron woke suddenly in a cold sweat. All night he had nightmares and had been worrying how he was going to afford those expensive new postage stamps. Then he remembered, he always uses email. - Techniquomania.
I'm going to write to The Times & complain that one of their readers has mis-titled this thread. It should read 'Email to The Times' Regards A.Luddite. :p
As I've already mentioned , whenever I feel the need to blow off steam I write a letter to the Times. My rants rarely get published, I would guess that in a good year it is a ratio of 100 letters sent to just one getting published, but the very act of writing is cathartic and I confess to whooping with delight when I get to chalk up a win at breakfast time. Take yesterday for example. I was truly disgusted at the miserly coverage given to September 3rd and so I fired off the following, Sir Yes, I know it is seventy three years since it happened and a lot has happened since then, but I did wonder why the only reference to the declaration of war on September 3rd 1939 was in The Register, Page 24, under "It happened today". I also noted this tumultuous event warranted only a miserly two and a half lines. September the 3rd 1943 also saw my unit, then in Sicily, providing the covering fire for the invasion of Italy and I see that the Times has managed to include this fact also in the aforesaid two and a half lines. Lest we forget ! Ron Goldstein Yes..... you are quite right, it wasn't published, but I feel better for having written it and it will be interesting to read what you think on the subject. Ron
After returning home from the Remembrance Sunday parade at the Cenotaph I e-mailed the following letter to The Times. Like 95% of my letters it wasn't published, so I thought that I would give it an airing here, where at least I know we have our quota of experts who will have a reply for me
