How was the Hitler coverage presented to the publics in France, UK, and the Low Countries for the mass consumption? Was he mentioned on the radio a lot, or newsreels?

Were there dedicated political talk shows on the radio that were similar to todays news talk shows, such as or "Fox News" or "Face the Nation" we have today in America?

Did the common people take him seriously, or just as a joke?

I believe he was taken seriously, many nations were getting friendly with Hitler, he was seen has a nice guy who just wanted to help Germany. This was before Hitler started showing his true self that is, it was when the war started he was commonly made fun of.

I will try and look through archives tonight (or tomorrow morning) and see if I can find any newspapers, news reels, etc.

I dont think that Hitler ever gave any "sit down" interviews with reporters after achievng power, did he? I understand that he only gave one radio broadcast from a studio, and it was idscovered tat he was a weak speaker in such case.

In short, he really needed a live audience to gas him up before he could speak. Is this right?

I attached the front page of New York times from 10/11/1938. It is about the Kristallnacht.
