hi ron Thanks for that. yes, theyre mine. standing stones at st just, brittany. the wreck at crow point, braunton, devon lydford castle, dartmoor, devon the 18th at my golf course. libbaton, devon glad you liked them paul Brilliant Please tell me they are not straight out of the camera.
hi kevin thanks for the compliment lol, no theyre not manipulation free. in fact its a technique called HDR. 3 images of different exposures merged to create the one image. then i go and play with them in photoshop and lightroom. the finished image bears little resemblance to the originals
Pauldawn I guessed as much but am no less impressed. My only "manipulation" of an image is to make it lighter. Thanks for sharing ! Ron
theres a few more using the same technique ... the wreck at crow point, devon 2 of the 18th at libbaton, devon chateau de scinio, brittany the 3rd at libbaton, devon

Most impressive Paul. Do you know of any decent guides which covers hdr photos? Been wanting to try this out for some time now.
hi jakob tbh i have never used a guide of any sort, other than some online tutorials. a simple google search should locate these for you. what you do need though is some good software. i use photomatix, photoshop and lightroom. im not a great lover of the initial hdr image thats produced on merger which is why i use PS and lightroom extensively to create the finished image. i always shoot in RAW for the initial 3 images, which i set at 1 click either side of the zero, and then convert that to a tiff. if you immediately convert to a jpg the image when being worked in PS will degrade to much. hope this helps, if not, drop me a pm with your questions. cheers paul
Cheers for the pointers. I use photoshop myself, but will check out the other programs you mentioned Thanks again.
Not a brilliant photo I know but I've finally got a camera that allows me to take a panoramic view whilst sweeping the camera from left to right. I've always been a late starter & took me awhile to get a new camera. Taken up near the Ridgeway near us. Also it's a good excuse to bump this thread & see some other peoples photos.
Time we got this thread going again. Autumnal view from near top of Pistyll Rhaeadr taken last week and the falls . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistyll_Rhaeadr
A beautiful country (I am in no way biased!!!) - From the other side of the south - The Comeragh Mountains in Co. Waterford
Very nice - where was that taken Diane? Here are a few from Norway a few years back, up in the mountains above Tromso, Norway just inside the Arctic Circle during a nice "crisp" February day. Most of the hike up was through knee deep and even waste deep snow. I was not expecting to go up there when I left the hotel and so was just in a pair of jeans and very few layers. Views took my mind off the cold though!
