Gary, I’m not sure if these will help you in your search for info. But while looking I came across a Princeton University website that has Historical documents of various US Organizations, including the First United States Army. You can download these if you wish (easier to read than on line)….. "First United States Army: Report of Operations, 1944 August 1-1945 February 22" (Item 23), circa 1945 - Finding Aids They also have many other units, including the 12th US Army Group, 7th Army, 9th Army etc etc Also their are more documents for the First US Army, starting in October 1943 I’m going thru the First US Army now to see if I can spot anything about the Montgomery American LO’s etc??
Are there miliary grid maps available. I am wanting to track my father by locating the grids mentioned in his tactical reports with locations from Normandy to Bergin-Belsen concentration camp.
This resource list loads of WW2 map New Resource - Topographic & Town/City Maps I've uploaded quite a few of the Normandy maps to Normandy War Guide Echo delta is a useful tool for converting the grid references, you will need to add the 2 character prefix to the grid reference. For the Normandy references, it's vT west of Caen and vU East of Caen The "Coordinates Translator"
Hello! I’m also most interested in the landing/loading tables for LST’s 378/79/80 as I suspect my father went out to Juno in one of them on June 26th. I can’t access any of Temuijn’s files above… does anyone have them? Thanks for your help! Jane.
Hello Michel! Here are the relevant pages from the 86th anti tank RA diaries. Thank you so much for your help! Jane.
