Her parents lived at Rawdowes Road Dagenham Essex. Land Army Girl Ada M. Rogers was working at a Farm at Johnston Pembrokeshire in 1941. Whilst attending to a threshing machine her left leg was caught and servered below the knee in the threshing machine.

She was recovered alive and transported to the County Hospital Haverfordwest and given blood, but died there. She was due to marry in less than a fortnight.

CWGC do not acknowledge the deaths of Land Army Girls as war deaths.

As far as I can establish Ada is not buried in Pembrokeshire, so if anyone comes across her headstone in Dagenham I would love a copy.

Dagenham burial records are online at the council website; unfortunately there is no record of her being buried in one of their cemeteries.

Not wanting to hijack the thread but I met a Land Army girl about 15 years ago on an evening class. Her name was Mrs Prior, but we called her Mrs P. What a character, very down to earth with an 'earthy' sense of humour. I presume she's now no longer with use. RIP Mrs P.

Ive also had a look, the only Rogers i can find is a Amelia Rogers who was buried 25th jan 1941, Hornchurch Cemetery (Havering). This is only a couple of mile sfrom Dagenham.
