Sqd Ldr David Kybvn Banks, test pilot, made mention of testing the one off Ladybird, a scaled down flying boat prior to the large Princess flying boat. Anyone known anything about this Ladybird? Festive greetings to everyone

S/Ldr. Banks was 37077 David Kynvin Banks AFC.
He was born 3 March 1916 in Guysborough, Nova Scotia in Canada to English parents. However when he was six weeks old his family returned to Britain. Possibly he died in May 2005, but not certain of this.
He had a distinguished RAF career. He was awarded the Air Force Cross, gazetted on 1 January 1942, for work at the MAEE where he spent much time working on the Saro Lerwick.

Now think I have chased two red herrings. I suspect Banks was talking about the Saro Shrimp and used Ladybird as nickname. Secondy I have been unable to confirm that a Heinkel He8 escaped Denmark in 1940 for UK.If in doubt leave out.
