Negri Sembilian Local Defence Corps Thursday 17 September 1942 Kranji War Cemetery in Grave 36.G.7. A couple of photographs taken today from Kranji CWGC cemetery. Gerald Hilder was my aunt's uncle who was reported as being killed on 14th Feb 1942. A moment of quiet reflection was, of course not really anywhere near sufficient. The rest of the photos that were requested here will be eMailed on my return to England in a couple of weeks, best
Morning Richard, Was I too late ?? Graeme If Richard did not manage to get your message in time, please note that I have now completed 12 countries in the Asian region and have all images of all graves and all memorials. For Kranji: all WW1 and WW2 graves; all post-WW2 graves; all names on all the memorials - including c25,000 names on the Kranji memorial itself, and the mass grave at the General Hospital. See my posts in the ''grave photographs'' section. This is a FREE service. Bucklt Asia War Graves Photo Group

My plans have just changed - hence the short notice. best, Thanks for your kind offer, 'bexley84'. If possible, could you take a photograph of the headstone of the following casualty: Private Robert EASTHAM, 2nd Bn., Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Grave Ref: Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore Plot No: 14.D.1 Private Eastham was from Cleator Moor, Cumberland whose casualties I have been researching for some years. He is commemorated by the Cleator Moor 'Roll of Honour'. His family later moved to Blackpool, which is where the CWGC have listed the address of his parents (N.O.K.). Thanks once again.
Slightly misleading as the original note was sent three and a half weeks ago - sadly, I'm back in frigid blighty now. you'll note the link in the middle of the thread from bucklt that might help you. best
