Just watched a History Channel presentation "Narrow Escapes of WW2 - The Siege of Kohima". Quite a good doco although I'm not sure about the re-created scenes where the actors seemed to be very ill-at-ease handling their weapons. Other than that, it certainly brought it home to me the severity of the fighting that took place far more than anything I'd previously read. Some touching interviews with survivors from the West Kents although little about the Indians and Nepalese troops who were also there. Pete
