In case I need to remind you, the thread title is "Just had to pass this on"

As in this case............

Shortly before midnight last night and just about to turn in when i looked out of my bedroom window and saw a car completely upside down.

Two police cars present as well and what appeared to be the former occupants of the car calmly drinking coffee from paper cups.

By the time i was in bed the police had departed and a tow truck had righted the car and taken it away.

If I hadn't have snapped it I could be forgiven for thinking I had dreamt it all

In today's Time there was this brilliant letter concerning the recent appointment of Prince Andrew to Vice Admiral on the grounds that he would have achieved this rank had he stayed in the Royal Navy !

Sir, I note that Prince Andrew has been appointed vice-admiral, “the rank the duke would have reached had he stayed in the Royal Navy” — a service that he left in 2001 (report, Feb 12).
I left the Army in 1957 with the rank of bombardier. It seems that the letter informing me that I am now a field marshal has been lost in the post.
