Just found these Aussies that were in other Air Forces thanks to Geoff's search engine. Many are in cemeteries I already have completed so I hope somebody may have the New Zealand lads and some of the others.

    Cheers

(Ignore my earlier post on the same subject in another thread)

R G Buchanan is not an Aussie but an Anglo-Indian (mixed blood). He held an IAF Commission (as can be deduced by the 2973) and only Indians and Anglo Indians can hold such.

His grave is in the Chennai War Cemetary - I took this photograph of his marker in 2007

    Thanks for the info Jagan.

The NOK is misleading. Would he be adopted?

Apologies for this rather delayed reply. After the Indian Independence, There was steady migration of Anglo-indian families to UK, Canada Australia and this migration went on till the late 60s. Its probably the case that the parents migrated to Aus afterwards

    Hi Jagan,

Thank you for the reply however they would have had the NOK listed prior to Independence you would think. As you say he must have been mixed blood however you never know what turns up. Toorak is/was one of the most well to do areas of Melbourne.

    Cheers
