Really suggest as in post 7 you obtain his service records, they should provide you the facts as to what date your relative was repatriated back from the Far East. Until you have some facts you will be flying blind - not saying your relatives memory is incorrect but you need some hard facts to answer your in initial question - basically how he got back home and when.

At present you have a list of ports with a day and month they were arrived at - but no year, and the list does not actually contain the name of any ship, so its all guesswork as such - you need facts I'm afraid

If you already have them then please upload them

Thanks for your input but this was a request for any available help as this record has the ship name SS Naldera at the top of the page.
your advice is appreciated and I have already said that I am in the process of requesting my fathers war records. I had doubted the journey being made on a ship that was scrapped during 1938 hence the post in the first place.

I've done a quick scan read of that Passengers List and your father's name is not on it. While I could have missed it, which is unlikely because I also looked for his specific name, this would appear to confirm that he was not on that sailing. As mentioned by others, you now need hard facts by way of his Service Records etc. I presume your father's name was John McAleer per your historic posts on this web site. At risk of repeating myself, there is still no proven link between the piece of paper and your father!
