His book ‘Scramble’ (William Kimber, London, 1985) only states being held at Stalag Luft III, Sagan until he left there on the ‘Long March’, initially to Bremen, and then in May when on part two of the March to Denmark, they were ‘over-run by troops of the British 11th Armoured Division near Lubeck’.
