Does anyone know why an RN Signalman (my father) would have been given a revolver permit, an Egyptian driving license, and access to a Humber Super Snipe and a V8 Plymouth? I can recall him often mentioning Admiral 'Cuts' Cunningham...could he have been his driver, and if so is there any way of finding out? This would have been in the early years of the war.
