There are a number of entries for a WW2 RAF / RAAF pilot shown via Google, but it is not a unique name so until we have clarity I have not added them.
Wow thanks for the links I will have a look at those. His name was Jacques Dupont, British, DOB 14/4/25 he was in the RAF from 1943-47 service number 1809274, I do have quite a few pictures of his time in chaklala but no document other than a release authorisation form! I will add these on here. On the group photo my grandad is standing 1st on the left! Many thanks jo

Thanks Jo. What I found earlier referred to an Australian and a French cyclist. So instead a few clues as to RAF Chaklala! During WW2: From: Help Regarding RAF Chaklala Royal Air Force - FIBIwiki and BBC - WW2 People's War - Parachute training at R.A.F. Chaklala If you scroll down to RAF Chaklala you will find a list of the units that served there as late as June 1946; note it does not show 31 Squadron: Stations-C A small snippet: Link: Calling all historians: RAF Chaklala - PPRuNe Forums The photo shows a RAF From 2520 which is a 'Royal Air Force service and release book'. See: http://www.website.nickloomes.fastmail.co.uk/serviceandreleasebook.pdf The 31 Squadron Association website has a history section and for WW2 refers to: Then post-WW2: From: https://www.31association.co.uk/timeline/
Thank you yes I will apply for the service record, my grandad is the 1st one in your list as his mother’s maiden name was finch so thank you.
They are all your grandad - his birth details, his details for the 1939 register and his death certificate details - the birth date is the same TD
