Can anybody help? From around 1920 to mid 1960s my grandfather live in Spain. As an Englishman his war time experiences were very interesting (although he never really discussed things in detail). We do however know that he was friends and was involved with a man called "Jack Franks" - please excuse the spelling as I'm not sure if it is correct. Every time we mention this name to historians or people who have an interest in this period they raise their eyebrows and say "he knew Jack Franks????" Can anybody tell me anything about Jack? My grandfather was a very, very special man, who we have very strong suspicions helped many people escape back to England, and helped with resistance work of some kind but again we've never been able to find documented proof as we don't know where to look.
