Hello everyone! My grandfather served in the Queen’s Royal (West Surrey) Regiment, 2nd/5th territorial battalion in WW2. From the regiment histories, I understand that they were visited by King George VI on at least 3 occasions - 22nd August 1942 1943 in Libya July 1944 while in Tivoli I have found that the Imperial War Museum has a collection of official WW2 photography - Collection: WAR OFFICE SECOND WORLD WAR OFFICIAL COLLECTION Has anyone any experience of how to request access to IWM collections? Or, perhaps someone already has official photographs from Queen’s Royal (West Surrey) Regiment, 2nd/5th territorial battalion in WW2? In either case, would be great to get in touch, thank you, Amanda
In relation to the IWM collections theres a couple of threads ongoing which may be of interest to you if you are considering purchasing their footage for publication? http://ww2talk.com/index.php?threads/iwm-photo-charges.90005/ http://ww2talk.com/index.php?thread...tish-public-domain-footage.89953/#post-932511 If you simply want to browse alnd download ,use the search at the top of the page for all items relevant to your interest example:- Search | Imperial War Museums or a direct link to about a dozen photographs if you cannot find what you need;- Search our collection | Imperial War Museums Kyle
