    Anyone signed up to this?

Lives of the First World War - WW1 Digital Memorial

I signed up for free, but found it required payment to view a record, which was a chap who died in the 1950s so presumably he had some WW1 service, but wonder where they got the data from as I could not find a service record and the name is too common to pin down in the medal rolls. Is it worth subscribing? What do they have which cannot be found elsewhere?

Personally LotFWW offers little bang for the buck, they monetise other people's collections which are freely uploaded (often without a full understanding of what rights they waive).

Overly corporate and profiteering, using emotion for commercial gain.

    Not a fan!
