Hi Lilybell Was her middle name Vera? Was she born in 1908? Any further info that you have will help to find details, if they are there to be found TD
Hello Lilybell She could have served in the ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) site for your info http://www.atsremembered.org.uk/ link below to apply for her service records at a cost of £30 the records will give you more information https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records regards Clive
Hello TD and Clive as far as I know she did not have a middle name and as she was 67 at time of her death I believe her year of birth would be 1907 she married my first cousin once removed William Harry Harrod in 1945 at Herts,England. William's Service file indicates her military rank when they married with permission. Now if I can just figure out what service she was in. I did check about ordering a file for her but it is very expensive and I know nothing about her parents or where she was born. I live in Canada and here we can get a genealogy package at no cost. Thanks for your input.

Hello Lilybell I would suggest she was in the ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) as per my last post. Her rank was Lance Corporal so ties in with the ATS. Ordering a file the cost is £30 sterling from the official UK government web site.Do not attempt to order from any other source. please read the info on the web site https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records. .A copy of her death certificate will cost circa £10 sterling.https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate Also as per the ATS link you should email them to see if they can be of further assistance http://www.atsremembered.org.uk/contactme.htm regards Clive
