    Yep, hardly seems possible it was a year ago. Great trip - and one I will remember for many years to come.

    Time flies, especially it appears, the older you get!
    However the memories from these wonderful trips remain crystal clear, especially when you look at the photographs that you took.

    Just checked in European Reptile and Amphibian Guide by Axel Kewt that is an Italian Wall Lizard, one of the subspecies from central & northern Italy, Podarcis sicula campestris

    Oh yeah, they're everywhere. I found one poor blighter who had made it half way across our snow covered lawn and had frozen to death.

    Seeing the wall lizard reminded me that we were always meeting these attractive reptiles.

    I also remember that if you caught them by the tail they would simply leave their tail behind in your hand !

    Paul i think you guys had the same room as me, i loved my trip to Italy but was disgusted at the state of the place and the memorials too. if it dont move it gets graffiti'd what a hole, especially Anzio and Salerno

    Thanks for the photos, they are fantastic I love the serenity of Cassino War Cemetery, it is a perfect oaisis in the middle of a concrete monstrosity.
