  1. Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.
I was looking for some help identifying the uniform of this Italian soldier who is of my extended family:

I think he may be an Italian artillery officer of the First World War.

If you don't get a result here try the Great War Forum.

  3. The photo was taken in June 1935, so it wasn't the First World War (sorry, forgot to mention the date). I did think he might've been an officer.

It definitely appears to be artillery. This is a picture of my wife's uncle, who fought in Ethiopia in the 1930's He was Italian artillery.

Here is my wife's uncle in front of an artillery piece. He later served during the 1941 campaign in Eritrea and was taken prisoner. Her was a POW in India until 1947. LeoCrapanzanoArtillery.jpeg

    Here's a question.
I've been Googling Italian Artillery cap badges.
Vertical flames are Heavy/Corps artillery, depending on what page I read.
Flame that is horizontal as in post #1 is Divisional/ field artillery.

Anyone got the definative answer to that ?

  8. I also have this relative who was in the Italian army but I'm unsure of what he did or any regiments.
The photo was taken in 1946.
