Is this a 3.7" AA gun base?!

    I posted this in the other place and got some very interesting answers, now I'm looking to pick people's brains even further.
    A thread was posted on Derelict Places with photos of Arne Hill AA battery, near Holton Heath, Dorset. The last two pics are the ones I'm referring to. What do think, chaps? Gun mount, or not? :huh:

    Bits of Artillery don't often get left behind they are too valuable , plus a lot of Bumf if you loose one.
    could be an a bit of a 'homemade' Royal Observer corps or Home Guard kit left behind post war
