Just as a social experiment, I registered at a site called "Stormfront". This site claims to be all for racial equality, but honestly, looking through some of the posts, I'm surprised that the net hasn't cobbled together and shut the site down. I have never seen or heard such utter chicken-poo in all my years. My wife is a Maori, from New Zealand. Her mother was a quarter Maori, and her mother a half. This makes her Great Grandmother a ful blood. There are no full blood Maoris left in New Zealand. When my wife and I planned to concieve, we had our eyes firmly open to the possibilities. She was 45 when she gave birth to our daughter. We knew the risks from her age. To add to it, she is a "special education teacher", teaching kids with Autism, or Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, or other such unfortunate consequences. We realized she was more likely to give birth to such a child, but we rationalized it thus. Our genes were very much far apart. I am from Danish-Greek Cypriot ancestry, with a little australian in the mix. She has strong Maori ties, with Scotish-French mix. Our gentics couldn't be further removed from one another if we tried. On this basis, we went ahead. We knew that the more of a mix and the further apart your genetic material is, the more likely you are to concieve and give birth to a healthy child. And so it was. Arlene needed no painkilling drugs, and the hospital staff were still hooking up the machines. They asked her to "hold onto it"....she couldn't, and in two hours from water breaking to delivery, there we were, looking at this sweet little girl yelling her lungs out. I tried to tell these people at "Stormfront" that to keep childbirth within a certain narrow gene pool is a recipie for racial stagnation and disaster. I also tried to convey the hunch we had that turned out to be so darned true about our own genetics, and how our brown haired and blue-eyed daughter also has blonde eyebrows. She has her mothers intelligence, and my general looks, but is actually a fine combination. She is also one sixteenth Maori, making her the last generation that can legally claim to be. All this has so far fallen on deaf ears. I even tried to point out to them that dogs that are pure breed have nothing but health problems and shorter lifespans, whereas mongrels are healthier , live longer and are far easier to train. What kind of poisonous crap is filling the minds of the average poster at "Stormfront"? Why is this sort of congenital nonsense still allowed to be diseminated on our internet? All I could do was think to my self, "You're kidding", and wonder how people can think the way they do when all the genetic evidence is totally against their ideas and morality. I'm waiting to be kicked from the site, but i'm not sure, given their charter, claiming to be all about the wellbeing of racial eqality and all that. Do I bother going back? Of course! No use preaching to the converted, you have to tackle people like these HEAD ON. Wondered what you sensible people thought on these matters.

I think the title of that website speaks volumes. We on here are all aware of the type of people who inhabit that type of site. I strongly suggest you steer clear of it. End of.
Calm your fears good Lady, and the Von P... I don't know how to post a link, and I have no plans to "whistle up" boring old Nazis either. It was an experiment of sorts. I got a shock, realising that people with these opinions actually do exist. For real. I'd imagined that having read about what a hash the Third Reich was, that nobody in their right mind would still support it, much less its morality and values. Oh boy! Was I wrong about that. It did give me a renewed respect for what our grandparents fought for, to rid the world of the stain and stench of people like them. After the defeat our relatives handed out, Fascism will never rise again. Not on my watch, anyway!

Yes, Slip, very surprised. I had honestly thought that Nazism and fascism was releegated to the annals of history a long time ago. That people who subscribed to the lingo were merely rehashing old mistakes. My experience with our baby had taught me a little about the practical applications of genetics. Armed with this and the further info I'd got myself concerning equality of the races, how breeding is a matter of spreading your assets as wide as possible etc, I honestly thought it would be mainly skinheads and Southern rednecks. I was wrong about that too. It seems that all sorts of people from nearly every different country I could imagine, (judging from some of the headliner posts). Now I would not have thought there would be so many Brits there, for instance. Nor would i have imagined that Russians, after their experiences with Nazism and totalitarianism, would subscribe to this tripe. But lo! The Russians had their own Cyrillic section! Don't any of these people READ history? Don't any of them actually investigate just what happens when a birth goes wrong and why? Don't they realise that the closer you are related, genetically speaking, the less healthy your child will be? Anyhow, it was an experiment, and yes Mr Slip, I learnt. I also learnt another thing. These guys are firmly rooted in form form of bigotry that is actually ILLEGAL. The more of us that complain about it, the faster we can force them off the net altogether. Because it does require complaints. I know what your going to say! Privacy and rights. But Rascism is illegal, and post after post exhibits it. The moderators seem oblivious. Holocaust denial is also illegal. You are not allowed to promote terrorism, child pornography and other crimes on the net, so why should racism and Holocaust denial be any different? It's time we all spoke up against this. Slipdigit, DBF, Von Poop....all the moderators would be legally bound to speak out. Duty of Care and all that. The more people that speak out, the more that can be done. In a way, this is WW2 continued in a modern context, on a 'front' that wasn't even thought of in 1945. Our Grandfathers didn't let facism and murderous bigotry just sit, they waded in there, ripping it apart piece by piece. Would you want it to rise again? The only way is to tackle them on their own turf. I'm going to give it a go until I get kicked off, which will be soon. Somebody has to. Anything else is APPEASEMENT.
Drusus, I had a similar experience a few years ago. I got interested in a manga (Japanese graphic novel/comic) series that had a Nazi element in the story and joined some online fan discussions. Well, I met some of the same people you met, or at least their pimply Bluebottle younger brothers. They are absolutely crackers, and attempting to reason with them is futile because they don't speak that language. Fortunately for all of us, they no longer control great states or armies. Other forms of political insanity have displaced them in that regard.
I take the mind over matter stance on such things, I don't mind because they don't matter. I'm 99.9% sure you are rotating a wooden spoon in a anti-clockwise direction, assuming you are right handed. We all identify with one tribe or another and when motivated by greviences, greed, power, lust or religious fervour, we have and will continue to slaughter each other to the end of time. You simply cannot legislate against stupidity and ignorance. We in Canada have had a recent taste of that misguided fanaticism.

It's worked for relative political stability in the UK for c.400 years, and it works reasonably well here. I'm on no crusade & have no duty to counter anyone on any site other than the ones I'm responsible for or care about (or if I think it's particularly funny), and poking certain hornet's nests without great caution & care is a dodgy game that requires tremendous planning & forethought... probably .. only resulting in personal amusement anyway - you won't change anyone, and it's the authorities' job to monitor the real active loonies who fondle nail bombs.
