Have reasons for caution, but I really might have to find a copy, just to 'see the elephant'.
Never a fan of condemning without personally inspecting something. Truth usually, as you imply, lies somewhere between.

    Fair review, I thought.

Jonathan Ball It's a way of life.

I'd be interested to learn if the paper it's printed on is absorbent?

Far more telling for me is the article 'Black Sabbath' in which Toppel distorts quotes in a 1st Hussar history ('Black Day' and 'that bright sunny June Sabbath ')to craft his sensationalist byline 'Black Sunday/Black Sabbath'. The article makes several mistakes and makes no attempt to check the numbers when mentioning 1st Hussars casualties (6 CAR) but strangely does spend a lot of effort 'explaining away' German losses. The author then has a paragraph called 'Heroic Stories' (obviously intended as ironic as it is in quotes) in which he critiques all Canadian accounts that do not fit with his Uber-Soldier view as 'exaggerated/spun/imagination'.
I think this magazine is trying to do in print what Mark Felton is doing on Youtube. Create a product which appeals to those who worship the German Military by giving them what they want to hear. Its a blatant attempt to monetise the Fanbois and critical copy does not figure large in their mission statement.

That article sounds like a continuation of the revisionist theme that Hubert Meyer would be proud of.

“They did stupid things and we killed those bastards in large numbers”

Referring to events from June 7-10, 1944.
The rebuttal comments from Lieutenant-Colonel F. “Freddy” Le P. T. Clifford (13th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artilley (RCA) in 2002 don't seem to receive the same degree of examination.
