    Hi everybody,

I have just joined the forum so allow me to introduce myself. My name is Steen Ammentorp and I have for the past 15 years been interested in World War II generals from all nations. This has resulted in my website The Generals of World War II which at the moment holds information on 15154 army generals.

So I have joined this forum in order to obtain further information on the generals from the knowledgable members here and to share my own knowledge.

    Kind Regards
    Steen Ammentorp

Welcom to the Forum Steen. I first came across your site when looking for the Wilhelm Hartmann's records.

I have the service record of Major-General Sir David Dawnay (reproduced from King's College files) who commanded my regiment, the North Irish Horse in North Africa. See:

    Hello again., a follow up.

When I first found your site some months ago, noticing Briitish Generals were for the period 1939-1941, I did not look at the listing. However, after posting my previous I had another look at your site and notice that you have extended the British General list beyond 1941 and that David Dawnay's name is included. Perhaps changing the indicated 1939-1941 time-frame?

    Cheers, Gerry

Oops - This is quite embarrassing. The timespan for the British has always been 1939-1945. I have simply made a typo here (don't know how). I'll have it corrected as soon as possible.

    Kind Regards
