I have always had an interest in ww2 history. I have never served and don't come from a military background. It has taken me some time but I'm researching my Grandfather who served in WW2 and was taken prisoner. He survived the war but died prematurely before I was born. He never spoke of the war so my starting point was almost zero. I had a full name but no date of birth or Death. No service number or Regiment. I managed to research and get his death Certificate. I was surprised this didn't have his date of birth so had to find his birth certificate. This basic info allowed me to send for his service records from the MOD Result I received them a few days ago. They are a great help but I still need to fill in some gaps so I will be quizzing you lot very soon. Many thanks Grant
