I have several flight simulator games and one of them I found to be really good called European Air War by Microprose. After finding this forum, it is not that I have a lot of time to play the games, but now and again it would be great. Whilst I could run this no prom with my early Windows 98SE version, when I bought a new computer with Windows XP I just cannot get the game to install. Can anyone help me with this problem as it seem a waste sitting in the drawer. Regards Tom
Might help Tom: max188's EAW Add-ons - Classic EAW Guide Install game & patch before running seems to be the routine. As games can be a sod to try reinstalling for a second time, very handy free uninstaller can be had here - does a much more thorough job than the Windows one and gives you a clean slate when fighting with installing a given program. Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs, Solve uninstall problems It's helped me out with a few corrupted game installs - Use it slowly as it's pretty powerful, but the help is excellent and it always warns before cleaning stuff from the registry & more sensitive bits of the pooter.
There used to be some flight sims by a company called Dynamix which were 'Aces Over Europe', 'Red Baron' and 'Aces over the Pacific'. You can download these games from the net for free but you needed a Dos program and so I gave up.
Craig, I have the set and they worked fine on old computers. With Windows 2000 and later, you have no chance unless you are into DOS configurations and I am certainly not. I still cannot get the driver to work that I installed as per instructions on the website. The same error message flags up everytime I want to start up! So now I have given up and hope it does not now effect my microsoft simulators. Regards Tom
