I'm not that familiar with the US Army uniforms of WWII but I'm trying to replace the insignia and patches that my father would have worn. My questions is: Would someone as a member of the 357th Infantry Regiment of 90th Infantry Division have worn a shoulder patch for his regiment or would he have worn one for the division? Any other insignia, patches or pins that he would have worn on his dress uniform?

Was he enlisted or an offficer? Officers did not wear regimental insignia, but they did wear a divisional patch.

Enlisted wore divsional shoulder patches if they were in a division and wore Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) of their regiment or other unit (divisional or non-divisional) on the lapel of their Service Coat (Class-A).

Regiments were not denoted by shoulder patches, only DUIs.

On fatigues, the men may or may not have worn divisional patches but did not wear any regimental insignia.

The 90th ID patch can probably be located. Do you have a war-time era DUI for the 357th IR?

He was enlisted. I did find the 90th Infantry Division patch. Now I have to locate a DUI for the 357th Infantry Regiment. Anyone know where I can locate one.
    Thanks,
    Darryl
