    Dear all,

I am new to this forum as i am researching 24 common wealth war graves located here in Werkendam (Holland). I am trying to give the crew of these aircrafts a face on our local website.

I am investigeting the planes and there crew listed below:

    - Lancaster LM 508 SR-F:
    Thomas Handley Duff, John Keogh

    - Vickers Wellington HE 244 AS-D:
Dennis High, Harold Jackson Salisbury, Arthur Irving Stark, Theodore Lafontaine, James Arthur Beedim

    - Short Stirling W7567 BU-S:
Dennis Frank Dobson, Eric Harold Cooper, Frederick Arthur William Thorne, John Brown Fleming, Peter John Withers, Jack Dempsey Peel

    - Bolton Paul Defiant Blue-3L 6960:
    Douglas Leslie McLeish

    - Halifax LV 962 QB-X:
Zenon Romeo Trudeau, John Evan Tinline, Patrick Murray Moloney, Douglas Alexander Crosbie, Lawrence Joseph Henry Boudreau

I do have info on the first 4 planes and there crew. But i dont have much on the flight of the Halifax LV 962.

My main question is for this plane:
Dous anyone have info on the HALIFAX LV 962 on a mission for Karlsruhe 24-4-1944?

Any other info regarding the others planes and there crew is also more than welcome.

All the Canadians on the above (Boudreaux, Crosbie, Tinline & Trudeau), their military records are available for free on Ancestry. If you need help with them, let me know and I can research and download info and send to you

    Dear Temujin,

Thank you for your reply! it is most helpfull.

The recordbook is in my possesion but it does not state much other than that they didnt return.

If you can help me out with the canadian military records, that would be great. It would be most helpfull to have more info on all the crewmembers from the RCAF

Flight Sergeant Harold Jackson Salisbury (R/97340)
    Flight Sergeant Theodore Lafontaine (R/10542)
    Sergeant John Brown Fleming (R/123282)

Pilot Officer Zenon Romeo Trudeau (J/87046)
Pilot Officer John Evan Tinline (J/26318)
Pilot Officer Patrick Murray Moloney (He is RAAF?)
Flying Officer Douglas Alexander Crosbie (J/21660)
Pilot Officer Lawrence Joseph Henry Boudreau (J/88809)

Furthermore i am looking for the story of what happend that night. Only thing i could find is that they went for a raid on Karlsruhe. But could not find anything about what happend to them or what this raid was about (or maybe who it was that shot them down)

Thank you so much for your help so far.

    Halifax LV962

The RCAF survivor was Robert Watson Brown of Hepworth, Ontario. Born 20 October 1922 Hepworth, deceased 18 January 2006 Innisfil, Ontario. As we have the 20 year law in Canada, this means his service file will become available 18 January 2026.

Brown had a brother who was awarded the DFC for his WWII service. Attachment is from the Owen Sound Sun Times newspaper 20 June 1945.

    Regards,

    Dave

You can obtain the A705 Casualty Report on P/O Moloney from the National Archives of Australia now. It currently costs $37.00 AUD but as their site says they are digitizing all WWII records and you would find it for free in the next 18 months or so.

This link will likely time out. Use his service number to search at naa.gov.au.
