There were quite a few experimental carrier projects towards the end of the war. There was a new American carrier design, and one by Rolls Royce, neither of which have I seen pictures or drawings of. It could be one of these.
The flat roof, spiky trees and harsh sunlight really don't look like North West Europe to me. I can't help wondering if the photo is North Africa. Plenty of dummy tanks there...
I still think that it is a Dummy or camouflaged vehicle. The side Looks completely flat and devoid of 3D. Cannot comment on the Location. Concentrating on the Boy to the left may reveal European or NorthAfrica and also the Wheeled Recovery Vehicle? to the right may also provide a clue if identified. Thinking out loud really. Regards Tom
I think this might be a dummy built on a Loyd Carrier. The characteristic differential drive housing of the Loyd appears to be visible under the lower front hull plate.
H Picture was taken in MOL - Belgium, july 3th 1945 (after te war). I think, because of the comments that it is a dummy. There wa a Brittish testcentrum in Mol (they tested German mines) and a drivingschool . If i find some more info about this picture, i will share it with you. thanx for all!! Wim
It has a look of a Rubber inflatable Sherman dummy tank from the rear quarter view, although the turrets were better made on the photos I have seen posted of Sherman Dummies. Regards Tom
