    Hello Kim,

I do have a copy of A HISTORY of the 58th 39-45 2nd Battalion The Northamptonshire Regiment. Printed in England at the Wellington Press Gale & Polden Limited Aldershot 1947. I have scanned most of the 150 or so pages. I also have the War Diary of 2 Northamptons WO 174-1445 Jan-Jul 44. If you wish to start a conversation with me, then we might be able to sort something out?

    Regards,
    Stu.

The Battalion briefly went to India after Madagascar but they were not active there. Although the Regimental history says that 'general health was good', I can definitely remember my grandfather (who was RSM at the time) saying that many had contracted malaria and other tropical diseases in Madagascar and that they were quarantined in India as there was a worry that the locals and other troops would not be resistant.
