    Hi,

Trying to find out where my grandad was trained after enlistment in 1942..... any help much appreciated.

Enlistment papers say he joined 2 / 4 South Lancashire Regiment in February 1942 (think went to a reception centre at York) and was then sent to the Infantry Training Depot (think for 55th West Lancashire Division

..... I've had a suggested the training depot was in Consett but have no verification. I've got pretty decent records of his time from July 1942 onwards, it's just this Feb to Jul 42 gap when he was at the training deport I'm unsure of.

Can anyone help with where the ITD was for the 55th re the 2 / 4 South Lancashires in early 1942?

    Thanks,

    Paul
