I've been told that such a list exists and the individual concerned has a copy. Apparently it runs to 1500 pages and was put together in 1947. Has anyone else heard of it and are there copies of it that can be accessed at Kew, British Library, IWM or in India?

There are casualty lists that include killed, wounded, died, etc., which I believe are archived in India (exactly where, I don’t know). Copies were published in volumes for each regiment a few years ago, but the publishing runs were very small before production was halted.
I have this book, and while it is very good, it is not a 'roll of honour' in the traditional sense, despite the title. It's a broad history of the Indian Army during the Second World War.
