Identify Medal from records (I can't make it out)

    Hi Guys,
    Can anyone tell me what medal is listed next to the 1939-45 Star please?

    That's the Italy Star I would say.
    Awarded the Africa Star with 1st Army clasp, 1939-45 Star, Italy Star and War Medal. Hence the 4-1 on the bottom line--4 Medals and one clasp or emblem.

    Totally agree with above. The t in Italy has not been crossed property but is slightly disjointed.

    Yes, looks like Italy Star.

    But just be aware that having an Italy Star does not necessarily mean that they were serving anywhere near Italy.

    My father went to Greece and got one.

    Thanks for the tip. However, I have all the records and war diaries of his unit. He most definitely went to Italy after North Africa as part of 1 Loyals. He was in battle of Anzio, then travelled up Italy to Fiesole where he was captured, probably tortured and sent to Stalag XI-A.
