I have just started to research my wife's maternal family line and her grandfather's military career remains much of a mystery.
I have attached some photographs, in hope they can be deciphered and someone can point me in the right direction.
The only information we have is that he served in India, possibly the Military Police and returned home after the war.

    Going off at a tangent......

During my time with the 49th LAA we had a despatch rider named Charlie Swarbrick.

    Just thought I'd mention it.......

Thank you for confirming that he was in the Suffolk Regiment. How was this identified from the pictures?
Is there anymore information in the photographs such as rank? Do any of these picture confirm that he was in the Military Police?
If he was in the MP would each regiment have their own MP or would they be separate from the regiment?
Our research will ultimately end when we request his service records, so finding his regiment number will be our next goal.

A lot of questions I know, but this seems to place to ask.

You don't need Service number , date of birth & full name will be enough.

FdeP would have IDed the cap badge.
