I understand that there might be one or two amendments to the text in the reprint, so for you aficionados, there are obvious First and Second editions to be collected.

    John

Are those the amendments AM offered to make?

I believe so. I was only involved in providing some research material for the original document so am not sure what these amendments will be.

Apologies for the delay in posting an update but I have been speaking to Alec about the best way to sort out this difficult situation.

He fully agrees with the idea of drawing names for the few remaining copies, so I intend to ask Mr Ali from the Raj Tandoori Restaurant to pick the numbers on Friday during my visit to his establishment for my weekly vindaloo after my return from my short business trip. I need to add that I now have over 70 names for less than 10 copies.

I will therefore post up the lucky winners after the draw has taken place.

Inevitably there are going to be a large number of disappointed people but it seems a further quantity of the booklet will be produced and so hopefully they will be able to obtain a copy in the future.

We feel this is the best way of sorting this out given the large amount of interest and the small quantity available and hope you will understand.

The book will be available from airborne medic or from me. I am very disappointed to see people talking about scanning and reproducing. Please understand that the proceeds from my book will ALL go to parachute regiment charities also the book was not written for commercial reasons but as a personal tribute to my dad.I hope members will understand why I've put this on a separate thread......

I am now back from my little trip to Melton Mowbray and do indeed have a small number of the a/m booklet...I am in a very difficult position as the number of enquiries both from here and other places far exceeds the number I have to 'sell'......to give you some idea I have over 40 requests......

I was thinking of writing everyone's name down and then picking the winners out of a hat.....does this sound fair?

The intention is to give the money raised to the Arnhem Fellowship and the Parachute Regiment Afghan Trust.....

    I would welcome comments...polite preferably!

I am very disappointed to see that members are proposing that it would be possible to scan and reproduce 'I Played the Piano and Made the Tea'. Please understand that I have written this book not as a commercial enterprise but as a personal tribute to my dad and The Tenth Battalion. Also all and any proceeds from the sale are to be donated to The Arnhem Fellowship and The Parachute Regiment Afghan Trust. copies will be available either from 'Airborne Medic' or directly from myself. 'CALM DOWN!'

This happens all the times Alec, with small productions, specially if it concerns Arnhem. It probably already has happened, a friend of mine gave an account to the ABM Hartenstein many years ago to keep it for the records, and a month later he received a copy of his own account from someone else!, lucky the have better crew now, but arnhem will always be big thing.

Hi Allan, yes I remember meeting you, the reprinted books will be available in a few weeks. From Niall in the first instance but also from me by email if Niall runs out. As I say the proceeds will go one hundred per cent to The Parachute Regiment Afghan Trust (via Colonel John Waddy) and The Arnhem Fellowship so the more you are all prepared to donate the better! Kind Regards Alec
