I hope members will understand why I've put this on a separate thread......

I am now back from my little trip to Melton Mowbray and do indeed have a small number of the a/m booklet...I am in a very difficult position as the number of enquiries both from here and other places far exceeds the number I have to 'sell'......to give you some idea I have over 40 requests......

I was thinking of writing everyone's name down and then picking the winners out of a hat.....does this sound fair?

The intention is to give the money raised to the Arnhem Fellowship and the Parachute Regiment Afghan Trust.....

    I would welcome comments...polite preferably!

That's the correct title for Alec Wilson's book about his father which has been mentioned on the Arnhem books thread

If you have more interest than copies available could you photograph or scan the pages and make copies available here or through another site or even on an external host such as Photobucket?
I did that with quite a rare Lincs history.

Jonathan Ball It's a way of life.

Are there any copyright issues that would prevent you from scanning the booklet and selling it in a PDF format, Niall?

I'm certain that Alec Wilson, the author, would have a few things to say if Niall started doing that.

As I haven't said anything yet!:D can my name still go into the proverbial hat please?
    Also what is the price?
Or another suggestion- how about a secret auction?
We all PM you what we are willing to pay etc, and then it goes from the highest offer downwards?:)

    Just a thought

    Regards
    Andy

    Agreed.

I have been in touch with the author and he has told me that he WILL be having some more copies printed, so anyone who isn't lucky this time will be able to get a copy in the future.

    All the best...........:)

I understand that there might be one or two amendments to the text in the reprint, so for you aficionados, there are obvious First and Second editions to be collected.

Hmm the way to wealth is to publish a new book on Arnhem in a Limited edition and put up for auction on WWII Talk ;-)

I think that I can just about get away with it as Steven and I often meet at the Archives and he knows that I also have an interest in SOE matters.

Well AM, what are you going to do? Have you decided on a way to dispose of the copies you have?
