Human remains found

Today it was reported that human remains have been found in a dig for a Bf 109 which crashed 30-01-1944 in Millingen.

 

One more accounted for hopefully

 

The remains have been identified as those of 20 year old Unteroffizier Otto Tillack. He was flying BF 109 'black 10'

So that is January 1944....... he would not have been shot down at that point, right.?
I suppose he had problems with the plane in flight.?

 

Hi,

The article states that on 30-01-1944 there was heavy Air combat around Zwolle. It is assumed he was shot down during this fighting. The crash at 13:30 was with such a high speed that only the tail section stuck out above ground.
