The Nafziger OOB files have now been posted on the net...

    CARL: Distance Education

As far as I can work out the 3 numbers indicate a year (e.g. 914=1914 / 789=1789 etc) and the first letter indicates the country, although there are some exceptions as while G=Germany & U=USA, Japan is listed under J & P for example.

Yes it appears to be a first class source of information. If there was a an index to accompany it,it would be even better.

Now it means a trawl throught the records but even so for people with plenty of time,it presents a mine of information

Harry, seems that this index isn't necesary......put in the search case the name of the country that you desires, and appears in the results a brief depict of each .pdf file.

And here is the link to the Nafziger site that also lists them in 'Era' order and after selecting the one you want also gives you the contents of each file along with it's reference number...
    THE NAFZIGER COLLECTION

And after I posted the original link on Axishistory, someone posted this link to a site that hosts all the files in zipped format by era/year which should make downloading entire files from a particular year easier...
    Nafziger Collection
...I have tried it and it works.

I was going to post the information above but it appears I am a year and a half late :D

No matter, I'll post something else! Here's the link to Dr. Leo Niehorster's website :)

The Nafziger Collection certainly is a very useful resource, no doubt about it. The site also contains other information of interest, including a few documents on planning for Op. Seelöwe.

It appears the URLs for the Nafziger documents have changed several times.

There is a Finding Aid on the Internet Archive (archive. org) which you can browse online.
Nafziger Orders Of Battle Collection Finding Aid 2012 edition. Use this Finding Aid to locate titles, however the URLs (links) within this volume are no longer valid. The first part of a 2012 URL/link http://usacac.army.mil/cac2/CGSC/ must be replaced by https://usacac.army.mil/sites/default/files/documents/ with the latter part of the URL unaltered.

Or download a current finding aid from Combined Arms Research Library [CARL], (U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth USA) which has the current URLs
    Finding Aid

    Cheers
