Hopefully this offer still stands - Harold Taylor 6352689 of the Life Guards, I cant see him in the LG but has has an Oak Leaf amongst his loose ribbons and the receipt for mounting his medal also mentions an Oak Leaf.

    Cheers

Sorry AB64, your man isn't listed. Of note: only 17 Oak Leafs in total were awarded to the Life Guards (In the following theatres - Italy x 5, Middle East x 2 , Northwest Europe x 8 & Other x 2).

Thanks for checking, maybe he was helping someone else get their ribbons mounted - he even had a small section of MM ribbon in amongst all the scraps.

    Cheers

    Hi,
Might he be listed under The Royal West Kents ? His number appears to be originally from their batch?

    52nd,
Can I just ask how they are listed, regimental order, by LG date etc?

And I looked them up to see what the current price is!!! Don't think my small book buying fund stretches to that much, so I might do what I have done before, get them on an interlibrary loan, only costs a maximum of £3 for 3 weeks borrowing....... cheaper than buying it!!

    Thanks

    Andy

    Andy,

They are listed alphabetically, so the page is set out thus:

Army, Service Number, Surname & Given names or initials, Rank, Formation/Regiment, Theatre of Operations & London Gazette Reference.
