    Hello everyone.

I have two old photos here which I would like to find out more about.

The first one: On the left is my Grandad. I believe he was a l/Cpl in the Home Guard before he joined the OBLI and later the Glider Pilot Regiment. Next to him is my Great Grandad who was in the 1st Dorsets before and during WW1. I just wanted to verify that these are home guard uniforms and not something else. Also if they are Home Guard, can anyone give me any more details about them from the photos. I am working with little to no information here. They lived in Headington, Oxford if that is any help.

The second one is my Great Grandad on his own taken at the same time. It is a little clearer.

Sorry about the quality of the photos. It is as good as I can get them.

    Thanks in advance
    Dave

Going by the forage cap your Grandad is wearing, I would say it was when He was in Ox&Bucks LI, and given your Great Grandads age Home guard for sure.

Does that shoulder side say ''GSC'' ?
If so that'll be General Service Corps.
Did he have a Army Number starting 14... ?

Yes Owen, his no. was 14414511. And yes he was 66PTW in GSC and was based in Colchester. But is that not an OBLI hat he is wearing? How does that work?

Here is a more recent image of the hat.
