Hi all don't know if this is the correct place for this question or not....I'm sure someone will be able to tell me or move the topic if it is not.

    Sorry in advance!:indexCAXI2NHN:

I'm interested in finding out more about the Home Guard and any research/records that might be open.

I'm sure many an old soldier was in Dad's Army so there must be some good stories to come out of this.

Cheers again for any help with the HG.

    Chris.

    Chris,

This link will take you to the Contents page of one of the links already provided.
South Staffs Home Guard Welcome Page
If you explore, you'll find quite a lot of general HG information as well as the story of specific units and individuals.

    Hi Chaps,

Many thanks for this information, I don't seem to be getting any emails coming through from the WW2 Forum when people have kindly left a reply.......

I must address that some-how!?! Any advice on that point.

Thank you for the information and on two other Neale family members that you have also pointed out.

    Most helpful.

    Kind Regards,
    Chris Neale.

Would anyone know if there are other area "Home Guard Lists" like the one Peter came up with for the Northern Command Officers List for 1941?

And what information is included, are there photos of these gents?

It would be interesting to know if any other Neale's were doing their Dad Army Service!

    Thanks again,

    Chris.

    They are listed here:
South Staffs Home Guard Links Page

No images, just a list of names of officers, by battalion, and with an alphabetical index of all the men mentioned in the particular volume, as at 1st Feb 1941.
