I am trying to find an illustration of a ship's badge for this ship.

    Can anyone help, please?

    Hi Chris,
There was no offical ship's badge for HMS Hector. However, I do have a photograph of a pre 1919 un-offical badge if you would like to see it?

    Hi Chris,
This piece of insignia was more than likely used as a letter head and it would have also been used on other stationery.

Thanks, Arthur. That's the Trojan Prince alright!

I think I have found the explanation as to why there is no crest for the Hector.

Apparently, On 27 August 1939 the passenger ship Hector of Alfred Holt & Co, Liverpool was requisitioned by the Admiralty and converted to an Armed Merchant Cruiser, so she was not truly a ship of the Royal Navy! She had a Royal Navy crew so was probably more like the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards.
