This is from the Ships Log of HMS Bululo, command ship of Gold Beach during the Normandy Landings. A shell hit the vessel killing 4 men at 06-05 hours. I've identified three of them and all were buried at see and taken off to another vessel with a burial party. Can anyone download the results from CWGC, for the 7th June 1944. I have failed to identify the final name, using different versions of spelling. See below:- Details of the casualties for the burial party Here are the other names:- " HMS BULOLO Arromanches 7 June 1944 Ships Log 06-05 hours Hit by bomb forward of captain's cabin causing fires in Officer's accommodation on B Deck. The Father of a good friend of mine, served on HMS Bulolo and transferred to HMS Belfast. In later years, his Dad was invited to meet the Queen during a VE Day anniversary held on HMS Belfast with a massive fireworks display and many other vessels as well. Hence my interest. Photo of the radio room. Amended details thanks to Timuk.
I'll ask the Mods to change the area of interest. I've picked the wrong one. War in the Air. Now I know why I need new glasses.
The first 3 photos of Bulolo on this site were taken in 1946 when she was returning from the Far East to pay off. In the first, taken at Malta by the looks of the buildings in the background, there is an Italian Abruzzi class cruiser in the background and she is flying her paying off pendant from the after mast. That simply can't have been taken in 1941 as per the caption. The second and third were taken at the same time but can't relate to 1942 as she is fitted with a Type 277 radar on the foremast that didn't start to be fitted to ships until mid-1944. I believe the new radars and extra masts were fitted in a 1944/45 refit before she went east.

Marine Küstenbatterie Longues-sur-Mer On 6 June 1944 at 05.37, 20 minutes before sunrise, the cannons opened fire on the first Allied ships. HMS Bulolo was the headquarters for the strong grouping on D-day. It came under heavy fire from the battery, which drew the fire of four warships.
The names of the four men in this thread are included in the list of names on the British Normandy Memorial, which will open in Autumn 2021 at Ver-sur-Mer. The memorial was due to be completed this September, but that date has been pushed back until summer 2021.
