Guys, Venturing into unknown territory, know RAF records well but please help on Royal Navy. We have his service record but what happened to HMS Boadicea C/JX321070? Lost on 13th June 1944. He was on board from 21st October 1941 until its loss. Where do l look at Kew? What is available? Looking for a good friend of mine so any help would be great. Regards, Nick KenFentonsWar.com

the boadicea is an interest of mines as it was a ship that escorted my grandfathers convoy from the clyde to bone algeria in may 1943
Thanks Guys, That info is fantastic. Looking to go to Kew to do a bit of research on this next week. Any ideas in advance on where l should be looking? Regards, Nick
Hi Nick /Hutchie Boadicea was a 1,360 ton destroyer built by Hawthorn Leslie and launched on 23/09/1930. According to Lenton & Colledge she was sunk by torpedoes from German aircraft of Portland Good luck with your research 4Bn
http://www.naval-history.net/xGM-Chrono-10DD-15B-Boadicea.htm (for all her history) June 13th Under air attack by Ju88 whilst escorting westbound convoy off Portland. Hit by two torpedoes one of which detonated magazine. Sank very rapidly in position 50.26N 02.46W with only 12 survivors from a total complement of 182. TD
Nick/ Hutchie Here's a link to the Wrecksite.eu page for the wreck of Boadicea http://www.wrecksite.eu/wreck.aspx?369 It includes photos of her during her commission and provides details of her condition as she is now 4Bn
