When entering Russia take the stance of a liberator. Take a chance that the Russian people are fed up with Stalin. Offer them a better life and get them on your side.

Then finish off the business in the west.

Tell them a big whopping lie!!!

The Ukrainians welcomed the Germans as Liberators when they first arrived.

Well, not being the moronic leader of a moronic antisemitic government would have greatly helped as well.

If he was not what he was and did what he did, would he have achieved the power of the people? (Probably not all but he achieved a quorem all the same, every time)

It was his perceived strength of cause and archetypal "martyrismic" oratory of near past history and collective hatreds that stirred the masses to follow him to hell and back. Sadly, for their loyalty, many did not make the round trip.

By the way, it always amazes me how the senses of sight and touch and even smell can be viewed by jousters over the internet.

When noses are put out of joint, just remember that the world has a ticket to watch the exchange and pushing insults back and forward does not auger well for constructive debate and the reputation of this forum.

Well I would tend to agree that precisely because of that, I cant think of any possible What-Ifs where the Nazis win the war in Europe. So many resources were diverted or lost to support their murderous racial policy.

Put your self in Hitler's place.
What would you have done differently than Hitler?
I know we now have hindsight.
What decisions would you have made to try and win the war. Be it by Air, Land and Sea.
Would you have bothered with the V weapons?
Would you have attacked Russia at all?
Would you have made the Me262 a fighter/bomber?
    Etc, etc etc.
Be nice to hear what you all think. Keep it friendly.
I know best thing would have been not to start a war in the first place.

    1) Listen! Success is 80% listening and 20% talking.
    2) Analyse my early successes. Wait until the adrenalin has subsided.
    3) Stick to the plan.
    4) Don't bite off more than I can chew.
    5) Concentrate on the defeat of Britain first.
    6) Take Gibraltar & Malta and control the Meditterranean
    7) Realise the importance of conquering North Africa and the Suez etc.
    8) Accept Mussolini and his forces only under German control, then.........
    9) Send the Italians into the Soviet Union first to test the water.

I apologise for the tongue in cheek responses in advance.

We must accept that virtually any German "inventions" after 1943 or used after 1943 were too little too late to alter the course that history would take.

I like " Send the Italians into the Soviet Union first to test the water."
    Very Hitlerian.

Concentrating on Beating Britain seems to be a recurring theme here, I could see life in a conquered British Isles as even grimmer than the other occupied nations suffered (failing the potential political apeasement that always seems possible) . If Knocked out as an Island with a powerful navy by a central European-based power that had already made the local gains it required then wouldn't all of the UK's strategic importance evaporate?. An ornament to the new empire withering on the vine as other more important theatres of war/economics were concentrated on.

    Just editing on:
The Empire's reaction to a conquered Britain and Hitlers potential response to it also seems an interesting aspect to this 'hindsight thread.'

Hitler was too far gone to take advantage of an opprtunity to create an alliance that may have had an effect.

Roosevelt knew that America could eventually overcome Japan however if Britain was defeated, IMO the world would have entered the "Ice Age" of democracy and force the America(s) to eventually accept a conquered Western Europe?????
Doesn't seem a bad thesis to me, It was hard enough to push across 30 miles of sea to re-establish the Western front, god knows what convoluted route would have been necessary without Great Britain as the jumping off point. I could easily see the Americans defeating Japan and eventually saying "why bother?" with Europe, (Trade being the essential basis of their Democracy and that could always be re-established eventually, perhaps even easier to deal with a European 'superstate' than with several bickering Imperial powers.)
But then there's always the Soviets....

Heaven help us if Hitler had managed to conquer Britain. I know America would eventually have defeated Jpan, they would never let a thing like Pearl Harbor pass by. But ignoring occupied Europe? Maybe officially, but you can damn well be sure they would have provided weapons and equipment to the underground organisations that would have sprung up around these Sceptred Isles. V for Vendetta wouldn't be the half of it. This country has always fought, and will always fight. Unless TB continues in power then we're doomed anyway.

Well the thing is, Hitler's Germany didnt have unlimited resources. To build the naval assets needed for the success of Sealion, its obvious that less tanks/planes would have been built, not to mention the tens of thousands of Sailors that would have been needed to man those new vessels (remember that the KM was understrenght for the whole war, so those extra men would have been taken and missing from another Arm).

With fewer tanks and fewer planes, the whole 1939-1940 blitzkrieg years might not have been as successful.

Ahh, Betty, lovely. Prefer Olivia DeH thou.

What about your Field Marshalls and Generals? Who would you keep and who would you get rid of?
You would have to take Britain out.

Well, I would get rid of Keitel, Fegelein, Burgdorf, Goering, Ley, Hess, and some of the other utter incompetents. Milch to run the Luftwaffe, Manstein as OKH. Speer as Armaments Minister early. And Veronica Lake as official hostess. Hubba-hubba!

Ok then. Would you take the Russians on? With Britain out of the game, would africa and the middle-east be easier? Unlimited oil to be gained in the middle-east.

No, America first. Once America's divided up between me and Japan, it'll be easier to launch a two-front war on Russia.

Ah, it's fun to be a deceitful megalomaniac!

It is obvious from this thread that Hitler never read the rules on how to be an Evil Overlord. Just go to Google, type in How to be an Evil Overlord, and learn from the wisdom of others.
    Very very funny.
